Hi David,

To start with, you have really created an excellent material, far better than any thing i have came across so far. But at the same time, i request you to please issue one document which help in planning for the course material prepration. Second, it will be great if there is one pager in terms of the total content so it gives ease of understanding the total content (how and when) that you be covering. As of now i see lot of things mixed up in terms if the new content and old content and i am missing the order to go for it.

In case you already have such a post then please route me to it. Thanks once again…

Regards,
Gaurav

Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for saying that, and of course, we can make it better when we get feedback such as you have given.

You saw this right, including the calendar (schedule)?
http://www.bionicturtle.com/forum/viewthread/270/

The calendar is the nearest i have to a one page plan for the deployment of the resources; e.g., it shows the semi weekly schedule of screencasts, those are already planned for the entire year.

I hope it is clear, on the member page, that for all resources (screencasts, quiz, notes, and EditGrid) the order is per the five disciplines: Quant, Market, Credit, Ops, Inv. Like the screencasts, first the eight early birds, then the quant A, B, C, then market risk, etc…

In short, our sequence follows the 2008 Study Guide (and specifically the AIMs). As I deploy the new learning resources, I am simply following the 2008 Study Guide. I think the Study Guide & AIMs are the best map.

But I see your point. There is no clear line between old and new. I think I can get us to separate those with color and some better separation...I think we can delineate “what is new for 2008” ... I will try to improve that separation, so it does not seem so mixed, i think that is a good idea.

In the meantime: the screencasts really start with Early Bird No 1, then then next go up in order, so at the top is the most recent (But we will make that clearer). The quizzes (the 2008 have not started yet) will be the same; i.e., first will be Quant 2008. On third column, the 2008 FRM Notes have published, so they are at top. For everything, most recent at top.
The EditGrid will be too much, for some, to consume early in the year. But you’ll note they go in order, too, Quant, Market (derivatives), Market (bonds)…

Regarding the one-pager, I really am not sure what else i can provide? I’ve given a calendar, i’ve created a sort of planning calculator. We follow the Study Guide and the AIMs. I assume you appreciate that given the AIMs is 57 pages and includes 500+ learning objectives, there isn’t such thing as a one-page content summary. I recognize I get many requests here for a specific plan, but the Study Guide is the best plan, the order is very natural. please let me know if i miss your point in this regard (but i do promise to improve the member page to your point about visual separation/emphasis on new/old. Maybe we can do better even in regard to order. I will look at this).
