Hello All,

I am new to the forum and to bionic turtle in general.

I have a few questions:

1) Has the material for November Level 2 been updated on BT?
2) What is the best way to approach the exam through this material? Is it to sequentially go through the material in the study planner? The sequence of topics in the study planner do not seem to follow the same order that is found in GARP's study planner?
Link: http://www.garp.org/#!/erp/study-topics (yes i know it says erp, GARP does not seem to have their website in order as of 07/07/2017..
he actual link for frm (http://www.garp.org/#!/frm/study-topics) seems to be for erp (GO FIGURE!)
3) Do I need to buy the schweser notes as well? I have seen some suggestions that say read the schewser notes and do the BT questions / watch BT videos? Is the BT reading material not good enough or thorough enough? If I wanted to pursue this route what it the best package to buy?

Thanks for entertaining this n00b!

Hello @dbansal,

Welcome to Bionic Turtle!
  1. Regarding the updated materials, please read through our thread here about our publishing process: https://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/important-please-read-publishing-process-for-2017.10036/.
  2. Study Planner Sequence: I believe that you were referring to this link on the GARP website which outlines some study topics: http://garp.org/#!/frm/study-topics (this is the correct link on their website under the FRM section. It looks like you may have retrieved your link above from the ERP section). This is not the GARP curriculum with learning objectives that our study planner follows. You can download the GARP curriculum here, and you will see that our study planner follows this exactly: http://garp.org/#!/frm/study-materials.
  3. Study Plan: Studying for the FRM exam is not one size fits all. Every candidate created a study plan that works best for them. This thread in the forum is helpful in creating your own study plan by comparing what others have done: https://forum.bionicturtle.com/posts/36254. Also, our FAQ page provides information on the question about BT materials being enough: https://www.bionicturtle.com/bt-faq...ufficient-need-purchase-additional-materials/.
I highly recommend that you read through the following pages and threads on our website. You should also receive a welcome email when you purchase, which will help you in getting started. A link to that welcome email is also below:
Also, regarding your post not showing in the forum, it was showing in the section where you posted it in About FRM (see below). However, I've moved it to our FAQ section in the forum, as it fits there better.

Hi @dbansal @Nicole Seaman
I asked the GARP customer services team the same question as to why the order of the Study Topics in their weekly email which links here:
http://www.garp.org/#!/frm/study-to...mail&utm_campaign=f17exams&utm_term=frmstudyt

Is different to the order of the Learning Outcomes (and thus the BT Study Planner) and got this interesting response:

"I was informed there is no particular reason why there not in the same order this was a marketing decision."

I've asked them to align the 2 for upcoming exams since it would be less confusing.

Fingers crossed :)

Best
Karim
